Firefighters don't just fight fires! They help out in a range of emergency incidents. These include road accidents, floods, train and aircraft crashes, chemical spills, and bomb explosions. Firefighters use their specialist knowledge and equipment to rescue people who are trapped in burning buildings. They also make sure that other people who are near an incident are kept out of danger.
