Ramesses II ruled Egypt for more than 60 years and lived to the ripe old age of 91. His age alone is an impressive feat considering that the average lifespan at the time was less than 40 years! But as Pharaoh of Egypt, he accomplished many great things, including bringing in an era of peace and prosperity to the region. This allowed him the time to build many great monuments, temples, and tombs to honour himself, the gods, and Nefertari, the love of his life.
