Bees are insects. Insects are small animals that have an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is a shell that protects the bee's body. Bees live in almost all parts of the world. They can be found any place where flowers grow. This is because bees must eat pollen and nectar from flowers to survive. Many types of bees are social. They live in colonies, or groups, of 20,000 to 30,000 bees.
