Moray eels are solitary animals that hide in cracks and crevices of reefs and rocky outcrops. Moray eels prefer to live in shallow tropical waters. Despite its scary appearance, the moray eel is actually a secretive animal that would prefer to hide rather than attack. It is not an aggressive animal, but if you bother the moray eel, it is not afraid to give a nasty bite.
