Crime and Detection: Famous Prisons

All famous prisons have special features that set them apart. Alcatraz, perched dramatically on a rock in San Francisco Bay, had the combination of its 'escape-proof' setting and deadly prisoners. Up river in New York State, Sing's electric chair became even more notorious when, to put slum kids off crime, James Cagney approached it, screaming, in the movie Angels with Dirty Faces.
